Trains, Capri, Pizza, and 4 Days of Pure ESN Madness!
If you weren't at NSB, you missed out. Plain and simple.
This wasn't just a regular weekend getaway. For four days, we packed our bags, hopped on a train, and left Catania for one of the best trips of the semester.
The adventure started the second we got on that train, traveling with a massive group of internationals and locals means the pre-party kicks off before you even reach the destination.
Then, we arrived to Naples. We didn't just visit this city, but experienced it at its fullest, as every ESN trip does.
The vibe is pure, beautiful chaos. The folklore isn't stuck in a museum, it's literally out in the streets. Souvenirs and clothes hanging across narrow alleys, Maradona shrines on every corner, red horns (cornicelli) everywhere for good luck, and locals talking loudly and passionately about absolutely everything. It’s loud, it’s vibrant, and it pulls you right in.
And we have to talk about the food. Forget whatever pizza you are used to. We basically survived on cheap, authentic Neapolitan pizza, eating fried street food (cuoppo) while walking down Spaccanapoli, and grabbing way too many sfogliatelle for breakfast.
The absolute highlight of the daytime visits? Capri.
Taking a break from the intense city vibe, taking over the island with our crew, checking out the coast, and just hanging out in one of the most famous spots in Italy was unreal.
But the real reason NSB is on another level is the scale of it.
This was a massive event with other ESN sections from all over Italy.
When you put that many international students in one place, you get epic parties, zero sleep, and the chance to meet people studying anywhere from Milan to Rome to Palermo.
Between the chaotic train rides, the food coma, the late-night clubbing, and exploring the coast, the best part was the group we traveled with.
You get on the train knowing a few people, and you come back four days later feeling like a massive family (a very tired family, but still).
