During the second term ESN Catania will take you to the capital of Sicilian Baroque: Noto.

The city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its unique architectural homogeneity, the old city was it fact razed by the Val di Noto earthquake in 1693 and rebuilt in its present spot with the local honey shade limestone. Noto's main architectonical attractions are Palazzo Ducezio and the Cathedral of San Nicolò, which faces it, standing on top of a really long staircase and sadly known for the unfortunate collapse of its dome following the 1990 earthquake: for that reason its interiors are now plain white.
One of the main attractions of the city is the annual flower carpet festival called Infiorata that takes place each year with a different theme on the third Sunday of May to leave its visitors charmed.

Later on we will visit Marzamemi, a small and colourful fishermen town to take a swim -and a well deserved break- in its crystal clear waters.
