Sea, Volcano, Granita, and 4 Days of ESN!
If you weren't at the National Event this year, then it'll be hard to explain it!
For four days, we packed our bags, left Catania behind, and headed to the Aeolian Islands for the biggest trip of the semester.
The adventure started with us traveling with a massive group of internationals and ESN members.
Then, we arrived to the Vulcano Island. This year's edition was organized by our Sicilian friends from ESN Messina, and we experienced it at its fullest. The vibe is pure magic. The landscapes include steaming craters, black sand beaches, and sulfur mud baths all around you.
The highlight of the daytime visits: Exploring the coast of the archipelago, hiking the volcano, checking out the clear water in the beaches, and just hanging around with the international people you can find!
But the real reason the National Event is on another level is the scale of it. This was the biggest ESN event in Italy, bringing together ESN sections from all over the country. When you put that many international students in one place, you get many chances to meet people studying around Italy in Erasmus like you.
