Built in the mid-16th century, the late Baroque Benedictine Monastery (Monastery of San Nicolò l'Arena) was razed by Etna's tantrums but, immediately rebuilt, it now represents an example of architectonical integration of different styles through different epochs.
Together with Associazione La Finestra, we went on a guided visit of the Monastery, UNESCO World Heritage Site that now hosts the Department of Humanities of the University of Catania, leaded by Officine Culturali's volunteers.
